In this Photoshop tutorial, I ?m going to reveal you some of the nice Web 2.0 logos, how you can draw their logo exactly the same (well, not really 100% though) with Photoshop. Steve Reubal has picked up the top podcast awards and a company that makes web 2.0 logos for free. Scobilizer also picked up the story. If you look into the Blending Options of each style, you will noticed that most Web 2.0 logos are matter of playing with Gradiants, Strokes with the combination of the right fonts. This may not the ?exact?

At Hongkiat’s blog there is an excellent tutorial on how to create the infamous Web 2.0 logos and a styles preset download for Photoshop with several styles to create the logos. In the tutorial you can learn how to create these logos. I’d like to discuss the appearance of web 2.0 logos. I have noticed that nearly all of them use the text as the logo itself, or at least the major part of the logo. Now let’s talk about the similarities of the web 2.0 logos.

Web 2.0 sites nearly always feel open and friendly and often use small chunks of large type. The colors are bright and cheery ? This ranks right up there with the folks who collected a bunch of brand colors from popular sites and slapped a “Web 2.0″ label on it. So I guess all I have to do to make a “Web 2.0″ logo is treat up a bit of text with aqua effects; apply some reflections; and slap a goofy looking emblem with similar effects on it? These new sites usually feature modern web technologies like Ajax and often have something to do with building online communities. But even more characteristic among these brands is their appearance.

A starting point for any Web 2.0 design should be the logo, and here’s how to do it using Adobe Photoshop. In this example I am using CS 2 though it should work in earlier versions, and hopefully in Photoshop Elements. I love putting my designs in Style (.asl), I can reuse them whenever I want. The better a logo is designed, the greater is the probability that your potential clients will remember your CI and get back to you once your service is needed. So designers have to be creative and put many efforts in designing beautiful, unique and catchy logos.

Now cut out the upper half of the selection and apply the brighter color of your base shape. The colors I used for the logo are printed on the screenshots. Here is the second part of Web 2.0 logo creation tutorials. Alternately, you can just keep the text the same size, turn on stroke, turn off fill, and make the stroke nice and wide and a different color. This is because path outset sometimes doesn’t follow the lines very well.
